Growing up, my perspective on life has always been that there is always a reward for each and everyone of us when we put our minds to achieving something, anything. Our God-given abilities can in fact exceed our very expectations when our minds are in the right place at the right time. The reason our parents send us to school is in the hope we grow up to achieve. Of course we do not always live up to the expectations of our folks, but their effort to educate us sure does get us some place where we realise what our passions, ambitions and aspirations are.
Work demands results where needed and serves us rewards where results are given. So go ye and dream. Let your mind go wild with dreams. Then, arise and work towards making these dreams a reality because “a dream doesn’t become reality through magic”. It takes God, an endless learning curve, good mentors, career networks, proactiveness, patience, perseverance and most times consistency.
“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Success is no accident. Stay positive and happy. Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight. Work of art is above all an adventure of the Mind.” – Unknown
Do not peg your level of success on your background, but rather on your zest to achieve. For there is no greater reward than watching the fruits of your sweat, determination and hard work. A very priceless feeling.
Finally, remember, it is okay for one to fail one-too-many times. The magic is in the come-back after the fall – in refusing to give up. Crawl if you must, rise and try again. You will be surprised at the struggles some of the most successful people you and I look up to have had to overcome.
